I saw the development to Justin's character as minor compared to Emma's, but both of them had things to work through and, at times, accept. I was glad that Emma made the decision she did, because at no point did I like Amber (which was the point).
One character stirred something in my memory, but I dismissed it, only for it to turn out that I was right all along! It was nice to bring the books full circle and link back to book 1, not just book 2 and I liked that it made sense and wasn't just done in a way that felt like an afterthought- it linked properly and, to some extent, made the story.
Honestly, I just really enjoyed this one and look forward to reading the rest of the author's books!

Other than that, it was a deep emotional romance that I liked the layers of each character and how that impacted their actions. It felt really realistic. So don’t go into this for a fluffy upbeat romance, its actually kinda sad just cause theres so much life stress with both of the main characters. Again this made them feel real but it wasn’t a head in the clouds read.
The writing was good, I laughed out loud a few times, I will definitely read Abbys other books, I liked the characters’ depths and growth. It felt long and it was, but it needed to be to be fleshed out. It felt complete and not rushed. I’m writing all this like, all this sounds like a high rating book, is the sick scenes bringing it down that much? I think yeah. Maybe theres just a vibe I can’t put my finger on but for now its just a 3. Writing and plotline id give a 4, it is objectively good and the characters didn’t feel one dimensional. Loved the dual pov that always helps me see the male main character better, I just didn’t love this book 🤷🏻♀️
