It got slow in the middle, and keeping track of all the names was a tad hard, but the end was worth the pay off in my opinion.

A good conclusion to the duology but I wish this could be a trilogy!

This series is written so beautifully and filled with emotional moments between the main character and the princess she body doubles for, that I'm sad to see it ended. The prose is gorgeous and the emotional beast are impactful, and work well with the slower pacing.

Amani continues her journey as a girl who struggling to balance the chaos she's found herself in. She does so with inspiring grace and courage, and I was glad that she refused to let anyone really push her around. Watching her struggle to find true love and an earnest relationship with Idris was sweet torture. Maram's journey to find her place was also inspiring, and was helped by a new character I really enjoyed.

The story and its plot moved at a slow, steady pace, with truly intense action happening near the end. This is definitely a book for readers who want to see two female characters come to terms with their relationship, and to see others find love. Combined with the political plot and world building, this is one of a kind.

I recommend this series to anyone who loves political plots, high stakes, beautifully written romances, and strong sisterly bonds.
