3.0

A useful professional development tool that focuses on the positive impact of unit blocks in your classroom/library/play area.

While most of the information presented in this book is still relevant today, I felt some advice to be a little outdated (Ex. Holding a child in your lap and talking to them about why they can't throw blocks) and some suggestions to be oddly specific (Ex. Hey kids, I've noticed we've been playing Disney World a lot lately, let's try going to the Kennedy Space Center instead today!) I would never use that exact example since I'm working with 3-5 year old kids who barely know what Disney World is, let alone the Kennedy Space Center.

Even so, I would recommend this title to anyone working in libraries who is interested in incorporating block play to their regular programming schedules.
