The first half I laughed a lot, the second half almost brought me to tears. This story interweaves Mike Myers' biographical account into a tapestry of Canadianisms, skillfully telling a story of nationhood as seen directly through his eyes.

Wonderful read. It's great to see (errr, reading) Myers excelling at something he loves. He's smart, funny, and such a great story teller. His love for Canada is delightful, and his stories and observations are a hoot. His narration is excellent and definitely make the experience better. I was laughing out loud.

Good book. I always love hearing thing from the US pov that are distinctly Canadian. A lot of times I don't realize things we do or say here aren't what it's like everywhere else. Definitely made me even more proud to be Canadian, especially the last part of the book. Harper fans won't enjoy the ending haha

The narration was excellent and add to my understanding of the story as some of the pronunciations would have been lost in print. I appreciated the author's sharing his story and reflections. There are parts that made me laugh aloud, and others that caused reflection. Thank you to the author for sharing your story.

I've always been proud that Mike Myers is Canadian because he is hilarious and seems like just a regular guy. This book lived up to my expectations. It was funny and smart, informative and inspiring. It surprised me at times and nearly left me in tears when it was over. I feel like I got to know Canada and Mike Myers even better by reading.

Much more a memoir and Mike's personal relationship with Canada than a discussion of Canada, but a genuine, heartfelt one where he shares what he loves about Canada, ironically while not living there. And who could expect anything different? There is a lot about Canadian culture, although much of what he brings up gets light treatment or only a mention, without details of what it is. Enjoyable as an intro to Canadian culture and for fans of Myers.

This book was super cute. Part autobiography (up to the 1990s), part love letter to the Canada that shaped him.
