My motivation for a lot of books I pick up is, "Hey...I don't know much about [thing book is about]."

I am not a religious person, so anytime I'm reading spiritual texts, guidebooks or compilations like this one, I'm engaged in a form of tourism. Because the books are not directly related to my experience, I am often more likely to simply read them and move on without getting anything terribly deep from the experience. This was the case with this book.

This book was a little scattershot for me, and I ended up contacting a couple of people I know who know more about such things to run my reactions past them. They assured me (more or less) that my reactions had more to to with the almanac / complilation scheme of this book's construction than anything universal underlying Witchery. While this book has many points and articles that seem pretty reasonable, it often veers into irrelvancy and silliness for me - perhaps a review from someone with a passion for the subject would serve you better.
