It started slowly for me, but picked up about halfway. From then on, it was the suspense of seeing what would happen and how far they'd go to protect themselves and what's theirs.

I love Kelley Armstrong and know I will enjoy anything by her, and this is no exception. I liked the twist and it made everything previous to it make sense. I was suspicious of the mechanic the whole time but I suppose that was unfounded.

A weaker standalone thriller from Armstrong, and I can't help but think that maybe she's putting out books a little too frequently. Two women, burdened with all sorts of secrets and murky pasts, becoming entangled in each other's lives in a small Florida town and a dilapidated old house. I was left wishing for a little more - more plot, more characters, more connectivity amongst the secrets.
