I don't really like anything in Hard Times. It's just the worst!
I just couldn't get into it. I understand what it's trying to say, I just found the whole thing rather dull.
EDIT: After rereading this for my English class, I grew to like it a bit more. I think I got more out of it this time around. However, I'm still not going to say I loved it; I just generally found it interesting.

If I hadn't have had to have read this for uni, I wouldn't have stuck through it. Didn't like any of the characters, I still don't like Dickens's writing style and I think yet again we have too many coincidences and contrivences in the climax which led to a cop out of an ending.
Hard Times? Yes, reading it was exactly that.

Reading this was a hard time indeed. But the third book was actually quite enjoyable. Karma is a bitch haha.

"Now, what I want is facts. Teach these boys and girls nothing but facts."
This book was such a slog to get through even though it is only 271 pages. I have read some of his other work before, and just like the other Christmas stories, this wasn't for me.
I just couldn't get into it and I didn't really care what happened. As I couldn't get into it, the plot was all over the shop and I didn't enjoy it. If you're a Dickens purist who wants to read everything by him, then read it, but honestly I would just skip it.

This was a uni read and I only had the first 5 chapters to read and I have a massive pile of TBR books before I come back and read this in its entirety if I ever do.
Hard to read at first but once you get into it and analyse the content, things make more sense and hold much more meaning
