My first Dickens!!! I have to admit I had a really hard time (pun) with this book at the beginning. It was dragging and boring, and repetitive. Sometime it felt like a children’s book, the ones you repeat words and sentences over and over to the point it sounds like a song.
But then it picks up. Maybe the intro is dull because characters are kind of horrendous and yes, the point of FACTS was very very VERY made.
By the time the children are grown I found the story more interesting and I really got caught up. I guess I was needing stuff actually happening than just the repetitive setting of the world. So it was a hard beginning but I enjoyed it.
I do have to admit that while I don’t have favourite genres, I notice that British Classics are the ones that I struggle the most. Not enough for it to become my least favourite... but...

It felt as if I was forcing myself to read it. I was struggling to get through it and it was no longer keeping my attention.
