Once again, it's just long form fanfiction. How am I not supposed to have a good time?

So I was thinking there's no way i'm the only one who's Imagining Adam Driver as the main character, and not only because his name is Adam, but because he was HIM! and I was like damn the author must be a big fan of Adam (same!) and then after I finished the book I read online that it is a Reylo fan-fiction and i was dead lmao!!!!!! This shit is hilarious!!! I should've known!!! The "shredded" scene was a big giveaway but I just did't expect it lol

So anyways, I needed to read something light and easy and I chose this one because it had good reviews. It was exactly that, I finished it in one day. I enjoyed the first half f the book more, I loved the banter and how witty Olive was, though she was quite childish at times for her age! And Adam is the bet thing about this book, period. There are some ridiculous scenes in the book, but you kinda expect that so yeah whatever. Something I liked about it is that it is self aware and acknowledges the ridiculousness of the fake dating trope. I did skip a lot, especially in the second half of the book tho, it got quite boring to be honest. So yeah, that's all I guess.

- first of all. this book saved me from an almost reading slump, so thank you very much for that. second, literally one of my favorite romance books now. IT'S SO GOOD.
- I was a bit hesitant to start this one bc I know there's age gap, like graduate student and professor age gap, but then it was alright. he's 34, she's 26, I was able to cope with it
- THERE'S SO MANY TROPES HERE. the main one is grumpy x sunshine, then there's student x professor (not a fan but for adam and olive I'm alright with it), fake dating, and slow burn.
- the smut chapter *debby ryan ear tuck* HAD ME SMILING AND SLAPPING THE BED SO HARD
- adam carlsen <33
- I blushed everytime he asked her "are you okay?" since the beginning on. I KNEW HE HAD A SOFT SPOT JUST FOR HER SINCE THE BEGINNING.
- I thought it would be filled with academic languages, iykwim, and I wouldn't be able to understand a thing, but thankfully it wasn't and I understood everything perfectly
- I love olive's little inner monologs, she's such a likeable main character, not a pick-me, not quirky, just normal and likeable. and that's a good thing
- fuck tom benton. disgusting piece of shit. also, when adam beat him up he said "the woman I love" HOW DID OLIVE NOT NOTICE THAT!?
- is it weird that a book made me wanna try pumpkin spice latte?
- HE USES FUCKING "SWEETHEART" HSDBEUFHWEJSJDWJDN
- though I'm not really into how adam is physically described (bc he reminds me of snape) I use my imagination to create the perfect my type adam carlsen and I'm in love.
- favorite characters (adam, olive, malcolm)
- favorite chapters (chapter 16 and 17. iykyk.)

QUOTES :
- "Hear what?" "That you are dating Adam Carlsen."
- "He was smiling, staring at her with a strange light in his eyes. And would you look at that: Adam Carlsen had dimples. Cute ones."
- "Her neurons went sluggish and cold, and it took her several seconds to process that Adam had been wanting to ask her out for years."
- "You just had to go and make me fall for you. You absolute ass."
- "The work you presented is important, rigorous, and brilliant. I wish you could see yourself the way I see you."
- "Olive. If you ever need anything, anything at all. Anything. Whenever. You can come to me. I want you to come to me."
- "If you say another word about the woman I love, if you look at her, if you even think about her--I'm going to fucking kill you. Actually, I will kill you anyway."
- "Ik hou van jou, Adam."
