Great. Great. Great book. Looks in depth at what faith means and how we accept it. But it never forces any of its issues down the reader's throat.

This took me a while to get into. Some of the scenes described were a bit too graphic for me. Although that’s within the nature of the story, I think that hindered me from wanting to turn the page with the in detail descriptions of animals attacking each other! Despite all of these things, there are various quotable passages and the story is fresh and original. Martel is a very good writer.
