I honestly can't remember the last time a book upset and infuriated and unsettled me this much but still didn't let me go. Jesus Christ. I need to sit with this.
But also, if this book already destroys me like that, what would "A Little Life" do, which is twice as long?

Wow. Wow. WOW. This book was not what I expected at all. I thought that the majority of the novel was going to be what was actually discussed in the last 50 pages are so but this made it all the more compelling and unique.

The parallels between scientific research, colonialism and parenthood to look at discussions surrounding intent versus consequence were really well done and I would love to read more books with these themes and similar settings!

SO GOOD
