I’m going to be doing a series review of the Violet Eden Chapters, but I thought I’d write a little mini-review for this book. I really, really enjoyed Enticed but I felt like it lacked a little something that the first book had. I don’t know exactly what that was, but this one took me a little while longer to get into than the first book. I still loved it though, and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone!

ok but not going to read the rest of the series.
The storyline was dragging and repetitive

AWESOME

Remembered the general direction of the plot, but was still surprised throughout at specific events. Strong and motivated, young female lead that had a lot of tough decisions. I could certainly relate to all her doubts and over analysing things.
Favourite quote: "We all have the capacity to find the will to do what must be done - even when that which we must do terrifies us most."

It took me a while to get into this book but I don't really know why. It just seemed that whenever something good happened then something would ruin it. Like my favourite couple. They would be really distant, then they'd get slightly better then they would be all togetherness and such and then something will ruin it completely! Good storyline though and I love the characters :)

Please note this is a review of the second book of The Violet Eden Chapters and there may be spoilers in respect to the first book, Embrace.

I was really happy with the way book 1 ended and I really wanted to know how that decision pan out for Violet. After the ‘bang’ of finishing Embrace, I felt Enticed started at a slower pace though there were lots going on that it was necessary to go at a slower pace so I can get my head around it all.

I loved the new characters introduced in this book; an easygoing guy, a kick-ass gal, and also a couple which represent hope… for Vi, for Linc, for us. I am really loving Stephanie (she’s a True BFF!) and I’m happy that she’s got a bit of a role to play than just Vi’s bestie. The second half of the book went quite fast with lots of twists and turns. Tidbits of info are scattered like crumbs throughout and are begging for me to follow on.

The only disappointment I had was Lincoln, especially at the beginning. He wasn’t there as much in the beginning and I thought he seemed weak. In a way, this highlights Vi’s strength even more. Thankfully, he redeemed himself later on.

Enticed is a fantastic sequel full of friendships, betrayal, ancient secrets, and of course, love. I have completely enjoyed the read and have got book 3, Emblaze in my hand, ready for my reading hour (which is now).

Lincoln

I love angel stories, especially dealing with very good looking fallen angels. I think the action in this book is a step up from the first and really gets you invoived. It's a great story, with twists you don't see coming, and romance! :)

*contains mild spoilers of Embrace*

Entice is secondary novel is a series that exceeded the first. Embrace was enjoyable but just not that memorable. However Entice was full of action, frustration, potential romance and just exciting. I honestly couldn't put the book down and was sometimes late for work because I lost track of time reading it at breakfast! My liking towards Violet Eden has solidified in Entice. I really liked how independent she is, something you don't usually see in paranormal YA novels. I was also glad that this time she learnt from her previous mistakes and didn't repeat them. She held her ground, she was focused and even if she was swayed a bit, she knew where she belonged in the end.

The end of Embrace was shocking, we find out that Pheonix has somehow embraced his evil side and is now out to get her. Boy am I glad Pheonix is out of the way. I hated how Violet was sidetracked by him and caused so much hurt to her true love, Linc. Even if he still didn't know it yet. However Entice doesn't focus on the romance, but it focuses on finding the scriptures, on finding out who has betrayed the Grigoris and also on Violet learning more about her powers and how big of a part she will have to play for the Grigoris.

The secondary characters in Entice were all so likable! Spence, the guy who I thought was going to create yet another love triangle, only ended up being her awesome kick-butt sidekick thank god. He had me cracking up so much when he teamed up with Violet. We also have Sal, Steph's love interest and then Zoe. I honestly think the introduction of these trio made the book lighter and a bit less dark for the readers. Griffin was as great as always and Magda was as annoying as hell. I loved how Stephanie, who is Vi's none paranormal best friend, is in on everything. Vi doesn't have to keep this huge secret from her and Steph is always 100% in on what Vi is doing and most of the time actually joins in on meetings and watches their practices. Thank god there is no negligent protagonist and a whiny best friend here!

Entice is a great, and better, follow up to Embrace and I now have high hopes for Emblaze. i know many readers have gotten bored of angel novels, but I believe if you stick to the end of Embrace and pick up Entice, you will fall in love with this series!

I have mixed feelings about this book. For the first book, I enjoyed the intriguing angelic world and liked Violet as a character, but I didn't really liked the way the romance played out.

In this book the adventure/action side of things was great, and I like the idea of the scriptures. Meeting the pair of soulmates, and the rollercoaster that sent them on was also interesting. And of course, the chemistry between Licoln and Violet was amazing.

But.. I have two peeves about Enticed. Firstly, Phoenix. I felt that his sudden hatred of Violet and his want to kill her, was a bit crazy. It doesn't make any sense for me- maybe for an unstable psycho exile, but Phoenix seems pretty balanced. A guy shouldn't want to kill a girl- shouldn't even contemplate killing a girl (he had mixed feelings) just because she rejected him after he betrayed her. Perhaps if Jessica had explored the idea of his wanting revenge because Violet's mum killed his mum in depth, it may have been slightly more believable.

Further, it was excrutiatingly predictable. The traitor, Violet's angelic parent, the mastermind behind all of it... I was pleading in my mind whilst I read that it was all just Violet making wrong assumptions, but alas...

But anyhow, it was a good read. And although the third book won't be at the top of my reading list, I'll definately give it a chance. :)
