Alright for a second book. Got answers to some questions left by the first book. I do not like this bouncy back and forth with her and Lincoln though - make up your minds already!!

Even better than the first! A little predictable, but not in a bad way.

I love it when I can barley sit a book down, All I want to do is finish this book and I devour it ..This series is so thrilling it keeps me on the edge dieing to know what is going to happen next. Phoneix which I am still routing for has stuck me odd..I want him to be a good character badly but I have a feeling that wont happen in the end. Lincoln is frustrating me to know end and the way Violet is acting toward Lincoln is also frustrating me I hope they will find a way.

This all came together nicely. Liked it more than the first one, which I warmed to a lot as it warmed up. Very hard to put down.Spence is a great addition. Lincoln is becoming a bit boring, though very nice of course. Will he get rid of those lilies now - it's the least he can do?

Embrace was a hit for me, and I was incredibly anxious to see how Violet would grow and change in the next book (along with everyone else and the rest of the story, of course). I had a few concerns about where I thought the series might end up going, but I was so impressed when I read Entice and realized it wasn't going to follow that predictable pattern exactly the way I thought it would.

And not only that, but I greedily devoured the story in this one and I'm ALREADY craving the final book, Emblaze! So much development took place in Entice, and while it still didn't blow my expectations out of the water it still surpassed them.

Reasons to Read:

1. A fantastic & atypical love triangle:

My biggest reservations regarding the Violet Eden series has been regarding the love triangle; love triangles have just been done to death, and they're often exactly the same as every other one out there. The first book, Embrace, doesn't give us the best impression of the Phoenix and Violet and Lincoln triangle but I can assure you after reading Entice that it is moving in a GREAT direction. It's just painful enough, but strays from the area of becoming TOO much and too annoying. (And because I'm clearly Team Linc, I just have to say that he does WELL in this book. So, so well.)

2. Intoxicating action scenes:

Jessica's writing is good, but I find where it really shines (besides the kissing scenes which are also well done) is with the fight scenes. These are fight scenes where I literally cannot read fast enough, and my fingers are turning the pages as fast as I can to try and find out what's going to happen. I completely lose my mind to the story.

3. Plenty of insight about the key themes:

Entice is pretty heavy on the themes of free will, consequences and betrayal. These are the three ideas that keep the story focused and moving forward and lend a bit more realism to the story. They're exactly the types of things most readers will find easy to relate to, and cause plenty of problems for the characters. But I was easily impressed with how thoughtful Jessica was regarding these ideas, and how there are both benefits and drawbacks to them. And they make for some excellent twists!

That being said, there were a few times I felt like I was a little bit lost with the sudden plot twists when they initally came up and they had to be thoroughly explained before I could completely follow the gravity of the situation.

And in some ways, some of the story was a bit predictable - nothing's easy for the budding romantic relationships, love has its costs, and not everyone is who you think they are - although some times those insticts about someone turn out to be right. I wish I hadn't been able to figure these things out so early on in the story, but I'm definitely curious to see where they go later on in the last book! And I hope the love plot isn't dragged out quite as much. It's good, but I would really like to see things settled by the end.

Again, like the first one, so bad it’s good!

I barely started it. The first book was fine but honestly I liked Phoenix and having him be the bad guy (potentially) just made me feel bad. This feels like its going to be full of the classic "we can't be together for bullshit reasons" trope which sometimes I'm fine with but I'm not going to wait around for five or whatever books to find out. Maybe I'll go back to this but at the moment.... I'm taking it off the currently reading pile

I'm having a lot of indecision about how I rate this book. I like the series, and for the most part I enjoyed the book, but there were a lot of parts I had to drag myself through. It was great at the beginning, and great at the end, but the middle could have been denser and it would have been better. As is the problem I find with a lot of books nowadays, it was just a little too long for the plot. I think it could have been 20 or so pages shorter, and a little bit quicker paced, and it would have been much better.

The other problem I have with it is the romance. I don't like that, even though he's clearly evil, Phoenix is still kind of a prong on the love triangle. I just get the feeling that later the author is going to try to make us like him again, and I really can't see that happening. I don't know for sure, but the way he gets treated in the writing really makes it seem like he's going to come back as a love interest.

Edit: 9/25/13

I think I need to be a little clearer about why I stopped reading this series, and my plans for it in the future, because (as I was thinking about some of my old reviews) I still agree with the three stars that I gave this book and the book before it. Yet, I stopped reading the series, and there are some two star books that I've stuck with. It ultimately has to do with the fact that I was buying them in hardcover. I didn't think that it was worth it to spend nearly $20 for each book in this five book series, because I didn't like them that much. However, once all five are out (and in paperback) I might consider buying a box set of them and finishing the series.

Here's what I didn't like about them:
- They were getting really cliche.
- Violet was a bit whiny about the two guys/the romance.
- Both side of the love triangle were "forbidden romance." (I can't stand one instance of "forbidden romance" let alone two)

I know it's not that much, and to me it doesn't really justify a dnf, unfortunately it did add up to make a hardcover dnf. So, down the road a few years when a paperback box set comes out, maybe I'll pick them back up and finish them. Hopefully I'll be able to do that.

I really enjoyed reading this. From the beginning it had me wanting to finish as fast as a could. Im excited for the next book.

This book was even better than Embrace!!!! Totally 5/5 stars, in fact I would've given it 10 stars if I could. Hands down the best angel books ever!
One complaint: not enough Phoenix!!!! *pouty face*
