Other than a short chapter at the beginning of the book, there is little about Shakespeare's life. In place of this information, author Charles Harold Herford substitutes extensive information about Shakespeare’s plays. The author examines the structure of each and goes into detail on the characters. This could have been dry reading, but Mr. Herford keeps it interesting. This is a fascinating look at Shakespeare’s work. Five stars.
