This, on the other hand, I loved. Such a powerful, brave, resilient-against-odds collection of voices and stories and histories. A lesson in how memory and information can be powerful things in struggles for justice.

This was a strange book.

At first I didn't really like it - the storytelling seemed too fragmented, it was jumping all over the place and was a little disconcerting. But latter on, as the story progressed and more and more accounts were added to the narrative I started to like it. It was an interesting way of portraying information, reading it was like watching a blank page slowly fill with colours only to finally arrive at a full picture.

I mostly enjoyed the book, but I do think it would work better as a film, as I was reading it I was imagining it all happening on TV.

It tells an important story and in the end the way the story was told also grew on me, so I would happily recommend this book as an introduction to the tragic events of the 17th of October.

Extremely depressing. The style of writing is also very peculiar. I don't hate it, but I also don't love it.
