I really liked it but it’s about how the relationship with God can affect/hinder the understanding of oneself which can be very triggering. The two girls are very relatable in that sense. It’s pretty much about how to accept yourself when there’s so many ppl telling u it’s wrong

Cried through the entire last half of the book - which I was unable to put down. I don't usually read YA, but I think so much of this book can't even be fully appreciated until you have grown up and can look back on your teenage years through the lens of adulthood.

What an amazing book to start the year with. This book is beautifully written. It takes my breath away at how sensitively the topics in the book are written about. The characters in the book are flawed but in a beautifully human way. It touches my heart to see a lesbian story written like this. It doesn't demonize religion, but it doesn't blindly follow it either. I am absolutely in love with this book and has snuck its way into being one of my favorite novels.
