I have loved every book in this series, but this one was my favorite. The world that Ritter has created with his eccentric detective Jacoby and his trusty, scrappy assistant Abagail Rook is delightful and well constructed. I cannot wait for the final book, but will be very sad when it is over.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book at ALA this summer and I'm so glad I did! This series is such a fun series with charming characters you can't help but root for and care about. I loved that we got to see more of Jenny in this book, I had missed her in the previous installment. I also enjoyed learning more about Jackaby's past, which I suspect will play a big role in the next book. Where the mystery takes Jackaby and friends in this book was fascinating and I loved the twists and turns that came with it.
Overall, this was a great installment to this series and I can't wait for the next book.

Typical Jackaby style. Cute supernatural mystery. We learn more about Jackaby in this one. I recommend toys series :)

I liked this one far better than the last because we finally get to know more about Jackaby’s past and the mystery behind Jenny’s death. Also met some of the villains which was a plus, and I really enjoyed everything but the latter half. I can’t get into it without spoiling what happens, but I’m just not a fan of how death and the afterlife were portrayed here. I found them lacking and unoriginal, and they kinda messed up the story for me.

This third book in the Jackaby series finally dives into the mystery of Jenny, the spectral inhabitant and former owner of Abigail and Jackaby's home and headquarters. Her murderer, so it happens, is still on the loose and chasing down the reason and method of her death leads our heroes to the very door of the underworld itself.
Once again an William Ritter made another amazing book. I waited so long for this book and now I must wait for the next one. It's an amazing series and I just love all the characters so much. The books are whimsical, mysterious and humorous, everything a person needs in the world. They have you looking in the shadows and believing in fairies. I wish I had a large enough vocabulary to effectively convey my feeling for these books.
I can not wait to read more about Jackaby's adventures.
