I adored this one. Percy and Annabeth finally really getting their own time together, despite the horrible circumstances, I just missed them so much. Hazel and Frank also had so much development in this book and I love them dearly. Leo my poor guy. Also Nico my poor baby I love you for you. Reyna my queen. I kept switching between not caring about Jason or Piper to liking them in this one. Not sure what to think about that. But this book is probably my favorite so far there’s just so much development and build up to what the finale will be and we get to see so much adventure mixed with genuine character interactions, friendships, and relationships. However, that one dream did make me realize how much I missed Grover.

Now. I would LIKE to say all the characters ate, but I am NOT a liar so here is me being honest:
Piper- moderately ate, she was great when she started doing her sword fighting but she loses points for earlier because be so fr you gave her a FOOD weapon- that’s just cruel
Leo- SLAYYY!!!!! I ❤️ LEO HE ATE EVERY SINGLE TIME. But he deserves better than calypso. I just KNOW my girl is not over percy
Hazel- yeah she ate when she was doing her magic and all that- love to see it

I WILL finally finish the heroes of olympus before the percy jackson disney+ series comes out. percy and annabeth are my blueprint, even twelve years after I was first introduced to them. 4/5 very good but kinda drags at some points, but maybe that's because I'm 21 not 12.

This is my favorite book in the Heroes of Olympus series. I loved reading about Percy and Annabeth’s experience in Tartarus this book and their journey to the doors of death.

OH MY GOD!!! I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH THAT I CAN’T TAKE IT! 😭😭😭 My babies. Mark of Athena felt like a lot of figuring out the dynamic of the 7 and going on side quests (sorry, Annabeth), but House of Hades hit the sweet spot. Frank’s growth??? Jason’s growth??? Percy’s growth???? LEO’S growth???? 😂 Yeah, all the boys needed to grow… except Nico, who has never done a thing wrong in his life. Anyway, good job, Rick.
