The House of Hades is the perfect example of character development done right. While action packed and full of plot development, I was most enthralled by the character arcs - especially Leo and Frank - and how the kids grew into themselves so much in this installment. Riordan has a unique talent of making each of his characters feel entirely different, each with a voice that is identifiably theirs, and I can't help but fall in love with each of their personalities and quirks.

I already know that The Blood of Olympus is going to break me but I'm ready to go in and find out just how badly.

I’m disappointed Rick Riordan has felt the need to add his modern political bias into his books now. The amazing world building and his great story writing abilities standalone. I don’t hold everyone to my beliefs but I also don’t want others beliefs shoved down my throat. I could have chosen not to the read this book, yes. But just my 2 cents. I love Nico and his character, I just feel this was lazy to explaining supposed “flaws” in his character? He’s moody and distant. Oooookay? I strongly dislike this aspect. Otherwise this story was great! I highly enjoyed being immersed in Percy’s world again. :)
