I don't know exactly what it is about this one, but I did not really like it as much as the other ones. Cade really bothered me throughout most of this. Amaya was no better. Maybe I just did not connect with them. As the book went on, it got better and I think it was good, but I did not connect with these characters as much as I did in the rest of the series.

Immediate no with the Audiobook. Already kind of had a feeling I wouldn't like the general subject of the story but the audiobook was immediately unappealing. So alas, I must stop my journey with it VERY early on. Maybe if I ever want to pick up the physical one I will but as of right now-that is not going to happen.

interesting

This was my first priest dark romance, and I liked it. It wasn’t as good as a romantasy like Scarred, or even Twisted to me. But this was really good. Two broken people meet and stay broken but somehow make those broken pieces fit

It’s my least favorite of the series. I couldn’t get into it like the others because I felt like it was the same thing being dragged out. But the last 100 pages or so were where all the action and development were. A twist with the Catholic Church I didn’t see coming!

4.5⭐️ I don’t know how many times I had to cover my mouth and scream. The forbidden love was REAL in this book between father Cade and Amaya. There is nothing holy about father Cade and as he unravels with being close to Amaya his darkness steps in and he finds himself unable to hold back his feelings whether it was to kill her or to love her. I loved Amaya’s story and how far she’s willing to go to protect her brother who is on the spectrum. I have a brother with DS so I can relate to this so much! There’s so much trauma that Amaya has dealt with and is still overcoming but I’m glad it ended in a HEA.
