Man, this is the fourth book in the series I’ve read, and the one I was most looking forward to reading. That being said, I struggled to finish this one because I could not connect with Amaya at all. I think I just expected her to react differently to many plot events, and I could not for the life of me get behind the epilogue. Not a bad book per se, just one I struggled to connect with.

- Inspired by The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
- Didn’t really start truly enjoying it until the second half.
- The religious aspect got to be a little too much and some things were repetitive throughout.
- The first half was too cringey and weird but the character development and plot development were really great and had me invested by the end.
- Quin is everything; loved the Autism representation.
- The spicy scenes were pretty decent.

Felt like the book took much longer to read until the last little bit of maybe 75-50 pages
Another 3.5 for me. The way Amaya looks after Quin is everything and might actually be my favourite thing about this entire book. The things she endured to make sure he was okay was so wholesome and shows real big sister/mum energy - she would do anything for him.
