Very cute.

An American Cinderella: A Royal Love Story is obviously a Cinderella re-telling. The chemistry between the two main characters was alright - nothing really special about it. The evil stepmother was a bitch and I hated her so much. You didn't really see the step-sister and all you really know about her is that she's a birdbrain kind of woman who only gets a job because of her mother.

Aria, aka Cinderella, is living her best life. She has her dream job... for about a day. WHY? Well because her stepmom deemed her unfit for that special position and wanted her back at her old job. Scanning mysterious documents that she wanted information off of. Oh yeah, you guessed her. Her stepmom was trading secret information with companies so that they made money off of their "deals". So yeah, I hated her stepmom so much.

Now the romance, if you could call that, was just meh. I liked them together and everything.. but I didn't really feel the sparks between them. This also made me think of it being turned into a Hallmark or Lifetime kind of movie as well. Which, again... means MEH. Or cheesy?

In the end, the ending was just okay. Yeah, they got their happily ever after and everything. The stepmom went to jail for what she did. It was okay, predictable even.. but also kind of bit anti-climactic? I guess I was just expecting some kind of spectacular ending. I liked it enough though.

I absolutely fell in love with this book, as soon as I saw the cover. I did know Henry was going to turn out to be a prince from the beginning but it added excitement to the story. There was drama, sweetness and super sexy scenes throughout the book - I struggled to put it down.
Aria is a strong female character with a heart of gold and her dragon of a step mother really did my head in. But what good would a happily ever after be with out some obstacles (or in this case a person) to overcome?

If you are looking for a book with a happy ever after, this is the place to find it.

The perfect cinderella story

There are the perfect glimpses into the classic Cinderella story while keeping the story modern, believable, and not too over the top.

This is my first book by this author. It won't be the only book I read by her. I love reading books where the prince does not tell the one he falls in love with. This book had me falling in love with Henry from the first time he was on the page. The accent and the way he was described was perfect. The dress that Aria wore to the ball was also perfect for her. Aria's stepmother is beyond evil. She wants anything if it benefits just her. She would throw her own daughter under the bus if it meant a benefit for herself.

If you are looking for a book that has you hooked from page 1 and has a good looking prince in it, then this is the book!!

I love a good princess story and this modern retelling of Cinderella, An American Cinderella, hits the mark. I loved getting caught up in the story of Aria and Henry in Washington DC. It had the perfect mix of fairy tale and stealing government secrets. If you have kindle unlimited, this is a sweet read to not be missed.

Not a bad book - in the end, it's very slow and politically motivated and also - who cares that much about rugby to have nearly an entire chapter on the subject - I sure as heck dont - if the pace was faster and not such a slow burn I'd have liked it a lot more!
