Anthony was always my favorite St. John brother. Anna was perfect for him. I loved watching them fall for each other.

4.5 stars!

I enjoyed this book so much! This was such sweet romance with a gaggle of cute children. It was also hilarious and ripe with sexual tension.

Anthony inherited five children from his late cousin. He hired Anna to reform the mischievous bunch hellions. The pranks they played! They were truly amusing. I loved how Anna handles them. And the romance. Anthony was extremely attracted to her but he promised himself to someone else and he didn’t want to break his promise. There laid the dilemma. However, this book brings these two characters in a truly beautiful and satisfying manner. Although there was buzzing tension between them, Anthony and Anna had only one love scene.

The characters in this book were great. No drama no fuss. If you want a good laugh, a sweet romance and a bunch of naughty kids, I definitely recommend this one. This was an amazing book and I really enjoyed it.

I like this book. There were some element that irked me, but they weren't so big or elemental to ruin my pleasure in reading this book. What I hated was that the hero was addressing the heroine by her last name without any "Miss" etc. It just didn't click and was totally unsuited for a regency book. There were sparks between heroes and they behaved in an understandable manner. All in all I can't say it would be my favourite, but it was nice reading it.

I mean, add a group of kids to any story and I'm going to read it. This is more of a 2.5er, but it's on the 2.56 rather than 2.53 side of that equation, so I'm giving it 3. As always, one has to be realistic about what to expect out of a romance novel but the intrigue all happened within the last 15 pages and wasn't terribly intriguing and the villain wasn't much of a villain and then things got a little dub-con-y on and off.

I didn't hate it, but I definitely had a host of quibbles.

This book just didn't do it for me. It was a bit on the boring side - lots of telling and exposition, and very little action. I didn't really like Anna at all - instead of being a fun character, she was grating and annoying - and I really didn't believe in the romance between the hero and heroine. I just didn't feel it. *shrug* A forgettable book.

An Affair To Remember is one of my favorite reads and I read it years ago and I thought it was time to get a book review done for it. This is one of the best books from Karen Hawkins. I adore this author and even though I ADORE her latest releases, there is something so heart felt and gives you the warm fuzzies when reading this one. An Affair To Remember has a mix of governess heroine, and seeing the growth and change that we see in the hero and the children that our heroine becomes in charge of.

So An Affair To Remember is the first book in the Talisman Ring series. It begins with our hero, who has inherited five unruly children who are quite the handful. in fact Anthony Elliot, the Earl of Greyley is overwhelmed with these children that he has become guardian over so he hires Anna Thraxton. Anna and her grandfather have fallen on hard times and she is need of this position. However, she doesn't only have issues with Elliot who she believes is an ass but she also has her hands full with the five children who need discipline and guidance. As she takes all in hand, she discovers a hidden passion with Elliot and a family she never expected to find.

I adored this book so much, and in my mind its a true classic and must read for any romance reader. It is one of the "Romantic Treasures" from Avon and these are probably my favorite type of romances that Avon has ever delivered. And this book is a true treasure. I do have a weakness for Governess historical's and this is one of the best out there. I adored the heroine so much, she has spunk and strong willed and creative in her methods in how she brings Elliot and his guardian children to heel. So many moments that are packed with amusement and I really love Karen Hawkins writing style. So witty and lively and the reader is always guaranteed for a good time when picking up one of her books. You can never have any doubts that this book is a classy romance that is a must read for anyone.
