I thought this book would do more for me, but I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. Some parts were funny but I didn't love Oakley and thought the drug plot was unnecessary. Plus there was very little exploration of their families which disappointed me.

I wish the author focused on Quinton forgiving Oakley rather than having a time jump because that would have been interesting to see. For a book that was pretty much just about the two of them, the characters felt underdeveloped. It would have been cool to hear more about Oakley coming out as gay for instance or even about his relationship with his uncle. I felt like the author missed an opportunity with these characters.

This was my first M/M read and I was very excited to try something new and different! I'm trying really hard this year to diversify my reads!

Unfortunately this book didn't hit as hard for me as other people. I am learning that books that are 80% smut and no plot or character building really aren't my jam! So if that's what you like in a book you might love this one.

What I did like about this book was the banter between the two main characters. Them calling each other by their last names was super hot. Oakley and Quinn had a fiery connection and I liked the little emotional moments we did get. Being the first of the series you could tell she was dropping hints for the characters in the next books and I think she did that well it wasn't too much or confusing

The spicy scenes are done really well and I love that she was respectful of the community and can tell she has done some research. I just thought it was too much... there was no plot and not a lot of character building so I found the first half of the book really slow. Nothing really happens except them hooking up before games.

It felt like there was a plot being set up in the beginning, but then it literally doesn't get talked about again until the last 50 pages. I just wish more had been done with that throughout the book.

I enjoyed the ending I thought it was really cute. I probably won't read the rest of the series but I am glad I read it!

I love reading. I love reading m/m books. I love CE Ricci. This book was amazing. As much as I read these types of books, I need to know that when the other show drops, I HAVE TO TRUST THE PROCESS. I love the angst and enemies to lovers. The gay for you...love it all. Quinton and Oakley have been major rivals, on and off the ice since high school. playing together in college, Quinton approaches Oakley with a superstition practice that could put them both in a really tough spot.

Meeting to do their "superstition ritual" leads to strong feelings and confusion as their hearts tangle along with their lives and friends. Through their meet ups, they learn things about each other that they didn't know and feelings grow.

A twist (of course) throws everything into a tailspin and tests them and the team. I laughed and teared up. I cheered and my heart swelled. Trust the process.

I did not come for the plot but the plot definitely was what made me fall in love with this book in the end. I ended up rooting for Quinn and Oak and their relationship way more than I anticipated. This is one of those books that doesn’t necessarily have the best writing but still has the ability to make you feel a lot of emotions.

“I want to bottle this entire moment up in a single heartbeat and cherish it in all its glory”

This follows Oakley and Quinton in college at Leighton U playing on the same Hockey team butting heads at everything. Things change and flip on an axis when they really see each other for the first time. Lots of tension and angst with some betrayal unravel through this book.

Wow, I have been missing out all this time on reading MM. My brain chemistry is obsessed. The hate was seeping through this book and the tension. It was delicious. I will say there was more spice than I thought there would be but it was perfect. I will say we have graphic spicy scenes but also some fade to black which I didn’t mind it was brilliant either way. I loved the superstitions, the socks and the puck storyline. My heart loved but also hurt throughout this book. Quinn is my favourite and this man deserves the world but I also love Oakley.

I will say I loved these two together but I honestly thought Quinton would be a bottom. That man gave me domination feels, I was surprised when the roles were reversed but still loved it!
I honestly just wanted more and a little more plot but other than that a fantastic start into MM.
