Ah yes, I devoured this one immediately too.
Poor Caleb getting his heart broken again omg. I hope there's like a happy ending for him in a separate series, poor guy deserves it.
This book does rely on tropes--second chance romance, age gap, yk. But as I've said before tropes aren't a bad thing, every book has them in some way. I think this was a really cute ending to Salem & Thayer's story, though it did seem super rushed. I guess when you know, you know! I enjoyed this book a lot. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author, I really enjoyed the duet.

I am conflicted on whether I like this book more or less than the first. I think I genuinely liked the chase and secrecy of their relationship in the first book, as opposed to this book being all about loving each other full on. Maybe that’s toxic of me?!

Spoiler about how I feel about Salem and Thayer :
I really do NOT like how forgiving Thayer was immediately after finding out about Seda. Like.. he literally forgave her of robbing him of 6 years without his child, after he already lost out on Forrest for the rest of his life!! I think she had good thoughts for her daughter, but at the same time she should have grown up and told Thayer within a year max. Just immature and I don’t get how he forgave her INSTANTLY?!?!

Anyways, I do feel like Thayer is a dream man and Salem is either really lucky to have him, or he’s really dumb to not move on.
