Damn I loved Sloane and Tyler. They were amazing together. My only problem with this book was the fact that the first 100 pages seemed like the main story was forgotten, and replaced with sex. But after having finished the book I have moved on and am completely in love with this story!

An extremely hot, fast paced love story with an excellent push and pull between the main characters. Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants and it was an awesome read getting there.

I really liked Tyler and Sloane. She is immediately attracted to him even though she’s trying to keep herself in check. It’s like an instant game between the two of them when they first meet because he is just as attracted to her. They have chemistry and heat right from the beginning and I loved it!

Tyler was rather fantastic. He was commanding and pretty much sex-on-a-stick but him letting his guard down and being honest made my heart melt. I really liked Sloane, she was brave, open to anything with Tyler (wink!), and determined. They both have skeletons in their closet and I thought there was a nice build in finding out the details. I really enjoyed the two of them coming together, the drama between them, and I thought the ending was really sweet.

I liked the element of mystery, it really pulled you in (the reason why Sloane went to Chicago in the first place). I thought it mixed well throughout the story but I wish it would have been a bit more in depth.

This is definitely erotica and HOT does not even cover it. Major steaminess, light BDSM, and lots of sexy time adventures. If you like a book with spice, you wont be disappointed – this one is scorching!

I liked that there was more Evan and Angie and that we got to see more of Cole. Can't wait to see his layers peeled back in Ignited, book 3. Great characters, an element of mystery, sexy times, and an excellent story. I definitely would recommend this.

Heated was wicked hot & sexy but, I wasn't expecting it not to be. One thing J. Kenner knows how to write are super hot alpha males. Tyler Sharp is no exception. He's sexy, dominant, sweet, loyal & caring. I've also come to notice that J. Kenner write amazing heroines. She writes strong woman who aren't timid or meek. They have backbones. Which I find refreshing & love. Sloan our heroine in Heated is one of those women. She's a cop that likes to see justice win out even if she has to take matters in her own hands. Heated is a wicked sexy & extremely hot book.

Heated sure lives up to it's title - wowza! Hot hot hot!

Sloane is a tough and nonjudgmental cop who makes the trip to Chicago to find her friend, Amy that has gone missing. Intending on sleuthing out a strip joint Amy worked at, along with it's owners - longtime suspected criminals, she meets Tyler and right off the bat not only do fireworks fly, but the game plan changes. Sloane decides to allow herself a little fun - while remaining unattached- with Tyler. Besides, her deadline for leaving Chicago is only a week.

Both Tyler and Sloane feel the incredible connection between them, but they insist on holding tight to their private secrets. Sloane finds herself constantly arguing with herself - can a cop really ever be with a potential criminal?

I really loved Sloane's character. She's fun and witty - and talk about being open to things - her best friend is a former stripper! Tyler has a certain reputation. He's known as a bit of a womanizer as well as being suspected as a white collar criminal among other salacious deeds.

The passion and chemistry between Sloane and Tyler was off the charts. At a couple points I thought I might need to grab my handy box fan and finish this novel in front of an open window! Despite the criminals, missing persons, and strippers, Heated has a lot of heart. There were plenty of moments I couldn't contain my, "Awww!" Of course, it's a romance so there were a few super-cheesy lines, but overall, a very good contemporary. Now I'll have to go back to the beginning and read Evan's book, Wanted. (And my library has it in digital format - yay!)

Thank you to Netgalley for providing this ARC.

I'm giving this rating a 3.8 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed the book, but the heroine sort of gave away all her principles of the sense of what is good and just for a man. I was expecting more out of this kick ass cop.

4.5 Heated Stars

Let me start off by saying that this is the first arc I have ever received (EVER), and I am so very thankful for the opportunity.

Heated is the second installment of a trilogy by J. Kenner. The books are meant to be standalone, but I highly recommend reading this series in order because so many things are introduced and explained in the first book, Wanted, that is not rehashed in the second book. The biggest? Character development. Wanted really gives you a first impression of who these men are, and without that, you are left feeling lost (with probably the wrong impression of who each man is) if you try to read the books out of order.

Heated is the story of Tyler Sharpe and Sloane Watson and told in Sloane's POV. Sloane is a young, successful, hardworking, and fiery detective out of Indiana who travels to Chicago while on medical leave to investigate the disappearance of a friend of a friend. Through a little intel, she discovers this friend of a friend had been working for the three "Knights" of Chicago prior to her disappearance. Sloane decides to use Tyler Sharpe's well-known weakness for beautiful women to seduce the bad boy into bed so that she may get closer to the Knights' operations. Along the way, however, she finds herself falling for this dominant, alluring, sexy, maybe-criminal; which could very well turn into a problem for this cop.

Tyler Sharpe is a man that does not play by the rules. He is a successful businessman who has used the tools of the trade, his rocky past, and any means necessary (including bending those rules) to become one of the richest and sought after men in Chicago. After all, he is a man that gets what he wants. When he happens along Sloane Watson, the plan was to beat her at her own game, but now that he has had her, he can't seem to get enough. But will a man with less than legal business practices be able to hold on to a woman, a cop, dedicated just as much to her job and she would be him?

The love story that develops between Sloane and Tyler isn't traditional. However, Tyler is able to see within the true depths of Sloane's soul and know all her secrets without having to ask. For that, she is undeniably drawn to him and the connection between these two is powerful. What I love about the characters in this series is their willingness to be honest. The first 30%-40% of the books can be a little rocky with both the H and h working their own agendas, but there is no denying the chemistry and you finally hit a point in reading that they stop fighting it. The characters do not spend a whole lot of time together before reaching that 'OMG this is love' stage, but that's okay. You get a true sense that what the characters are feeling is real, so it helps you get past the insta-love.

I can't get through this review without mentioning the true hotness that is Tyler Sharpe and the sex scenes in this book.

I definitely prefer the scenes in Heated over those in Wanted. There is just something about Tyler that really draws you in. Maybe it's his dominant side? Maybe it's his ability to see past his own need to control in order to make Sloane as comfortable as possible? (I'm pretty sure it's his dominant side.)

I highly recommend this series. The reason for the missing half star? Although the characters, story line, and overall chemistry was great, it just didn't suck me in. I like a book to have me so enraptured that I don't get a thing else done until I finish. This book didn't do that for me. It took me two weeks to read it in its entirety and I am a person that can read 3-4 books a week. I don't know what it was, but I truly think it was just a personal thing and do not fault the author for this.

Below is my casting:

Seducido
