Some chapters made me feel like I wasn't quite smart enough for this book, others didn't feel related to the premise of the book at all. But the rest was so good that I don't really mind. A lot of this book read like poetry, amazing writing.
Graphic: Confinement, Medical content, and Self harm
Moderate: Eating disorder, Injury/Injury detail, Misogyny, and Terminal illness
Minor: Domestic abuse, Drug abuse, Rape, Sexual content, and Abortion

I would strongly recommend not listening to this book as an audiobook -- Jamison's writing deserves to be consumed slowly, with full attention. The audiobook format allows your focus to drift and lose the subtlety Jamison builds within and across essays. If you don't give the book the attention it deserves then her arguments feel blunt and overwrought; tuning in reveals more layered observations.
Moderate: Self harm, Eating disorder, and Abortion
