This series is on a declining rating with every book being more or less the same - Casia&Co take a journey to a place, complications happen, they reach the place, Casia dazzles the ruler/deity with her powers and charm and they fight with Varen with no clear victor. Three books later and the magic system is still ruled only by one concrete law - Casia can do what she wants, when she wants. The next book in the series is not free on audible and thus so far this series has given me no reason to continue, so I won't.

I feel like this series should have been 3 books and not 5 and I haven't even read the last 2 yet. Feels weirdly paced. Still gonna read the last ones most likely but eh

bro the ENDING of this book had me crying at work!!! I absolutely adore all of these characters, and seeing Cassia grow into her power and learn more about herself while also learning more about those around her was incredible. I also absolutely adore Elander, and the scenes between the two of them are just... CHEFS KISSSSSSS. I swear I'm so sad i didnt discover this series sooner, but at the same time I'm glad, because if i did, the series wouldnt be finished and i wouldnt be able to breathe. ON TO BOOK 4!
Book 3 in the series and it was another great book. This book picked up right after book 2 and we got all the things we loved in the series.
The characters developed a lot in this book again, I enjoyed the new characters introduces and the development of the characters we already knew.
I thought the storyline continued on really well and was still really interesting and kept me engaged. I loved the spice scenes and the world building of the new places explored in this book.
Overall I really liked this book and can’t wait to start the next one.
