bro the ENDING of this book had me crying at work!!! I absolutely adore all of these characters, and seeing Cassia grow into her power and learn more about herself while also learning more about those around her was incredible. I also absolutely adore Elander, and the scenes between the two of them are just... CHEFS KISSSSSSS. I swear I'm so sad i didnt discover this series sooner, but at the same time I'm glad, because if i did, the series wouldnt be finished and i wouldnt be able to breathe. ON TO BOOK 4!

Gaither has continued to create an epic story full of imaginative world building, beautifully complicated characters, and complex magic. The character growth continues to be one of Gaither’s strengths and particularly shines with Casia. While the will they/won’t they enemies to lovers Casia/Elander are a major selling point for a lot of readers, I actually love the found more. Casia’s relationships with Zev and Nessa are definitely my favorite. While interactions aren’t always happy, they portray realistic family dynamics. The plot was really fast paced in this book, which made it a quick read for me. However, I know fast paced plots aren’t for everyone. The biggest struggle for me was the overall constant feeling of doom. I felt like there should’ve been a few more hopeful scenes to offset it especially after that gut wrenching ending. Overall, though, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next one.
