If this ended on the cliffhanger I thought it was going to, I would have RIOTED.

but it didn’t.

I enjoyed the story and the plot development. But a lot of it felt, anticlimactic? Or unfinished? But it’s probably just because I want *MORE* of C + E and I won’t be happy until I know what’s in store for them.

S.M. Gaither more than delivered with this 3rd installment of the Shadows and Crowns series! I expected to love this book, but it went beyond my expectations. I didn't think this series could get better than it already was, but it did, and this is definitely one of my top reads of this year!

I really enjoyed getting to see more of the world and the different people and realms. Divine magic is my favorite fantasy magic system and all the magic in this book was so cool and written so well. The growth of the relationships was great and there was a perfect amount of romance and spice. Just like the other books in the series, the action was non-stop and quick paced and Casia's badass-ery was amazing.

What really resonated with me the most was Casia's mental health struggles and battle with anxiety. The idea that everyone has bad days, and even those trying to save the world are not ok sometimes, was really powerful to me. I see myself in some of Casia's struggles and seeing a badass fantasy heroine fight those same battles and learn to overcome them meant more than I can explain.

If you haven't read the Shadows and Crowns series, you are missing out. If you like Throne of Glass and From Blood And Ash you need to read this series immediately!  The Call of the Void is out September 28th and available for pre-order now!

Thank you to S.M. Gaither for the ARC in exchange for my honest review ❤

This book made me silent scream in my bed at one in the morning, and I was crying ten minutes before that. Absolutely fantastic, I’m in love with this series.
