3.5, I enjoyed the characters and the story line, but the writing was a super high quality. It was a good read, and couldn't put it down.

I don't really have much to say about this book. It was ok but it got pretty annoying that with every few pages another dilemma would arise.

I really enjoyed this Western historical romance. The only thing that kept bugging me was trying to reconcile the hero's character with his actions at the beginning of the story (which I will admit made for an exciting start, however!) -- it just seems that he had the means to hire a teacher through traditional means rather than attempt to abduct one off a train. But I loved watching their relationship grow and there were some exciting twists to the story.

I don't want to bash this book. I should, because it wasn't very intelligent. But I knew what it was when I picked it up (ha ha.) The first 50 pages almost killed me off. Everything that could go wrong did, and the characters were so annoyingly Mary-Sue/male equivalent. But after Thayne and Emma leave the town, it got better. Not amazingly better, but at least I enjoyed the rest of the book. And the drama of it all was fun, I admit. I'd read it again if I was looking for some light, clean chick-lit. Yes, I would. And I wouldn't feel bad about it either, so there.

3.5 stars. I wasn't expecting a ton out of this, just a light summer read. I ended up being quite engrossed and read it in one sitting well into the night. Great dialogue, action, and character development set this apart from the plethora of historical romance novels.
