An okay book but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first in the series, not quite sure why but the characters Ahn and Deathmaker didn't seem quite real to me.

While not perfect, I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read again at some point (I actually listened to it on Audible and the voice actor was amazing).

At first I was disappointed this book didn't continue with Sardelle and Zirkander's perspectives, but I quickly grew to love Ahn and Deathmaker and this book more than the first. Once I realized events were intertwined it made this book even more interesting. The ending was more action-packed than the 1st book and I can't wait to continue on with all of these characters. This book redeemed the series for me.
