I really enjoyed this prequel to the Warriors series. It was interesting to see into Bluestar's past and it helped me better understand her character. It is more meaningful if you read this after the other books, though, so I don't suggest starting with it.

Just what I needed in my life right now. why did I cry three separate times during this book!!!????

A prequel to the first Warriors series, which turns out to basically be a biography of Bluestar up until the starting events of Warriors. I liked this well enough, but was pretty disappointed by how much time was spent on the formulaic opening Warriors has come to have--so much time was spent on Bluestar as a kit and apprentice, which has been covered so many times in the rest of the series that it really was a bit of a drag to get through.

With how much time was spent on Bluestar's early years, it was disappointing how quickly her later years were sped over. There are a whole lot of events that led up to the tensions and relations in the Warriors series that get a half-hearted treatment in here. Still, I did like a look into Bluestar's life, plus there's quite a bit about Tigerstar and why he turned out the way he did.

This was still enjoyable, but it really could have been edited into a much better story.

Even knowing how things would turn out, I still cried. A wonderful super edition. I love Bluestar.
