As usual, just what I needed. First of my physical, owned, copies of Jill Shalvis - I think I may start a collection for times of great need :)

Another great book from Jill Shalvis! I love everything this awesome lady writes and this book is no exception. Aidan was a swoonworthy hero and you couldn't help but feel bad for Lily because of the things she dealt with in her past. I liked the rapport between Aidan and his brothers and I look forward to the future books in the series.

Second Chance Summer is yet another winner from Shalvis! Amazing characters, a great story, and red-hot romance filled with both hope and a little dose of fear.

I love each and every series from Jill Shalvis. I was so sad to see the end of the Lucky Harbor series happen, but was super excited when I read we would get a new series and I loved the first book in the Cedar Ridge series so much.

I have to say I loved both Lily and Aidan from the moment we met them both. Aidan loves to take care of everyone in his life and has always been the one to try and protect his family and friends. Lily pulled at every single one of my heartstrings. She really was such a strong character and has been living with the unnecessary guilt from her sister's death for 10 years.

I really felt like Lily had no chance of finally coming to terms with her sister's death until she came back to Cedar Ridge. I also think she really needed to be around Aidan again to help move forward, as she left town and him behind with no warning after her sister died. I loved that Lily and Aidan had major chemistry from the moment they saw each other again. Lily continuing to say she was only in town until she could find a new job pretty much killed me as I could tell that Aidan still loved her and I didn't want him to get hurt again.

I also love the family dynamics between Aidan, his brothers and his sister. I loved they are all so protective of one another, with Aidan being the most protective of everyone. I love reading about a small town, family run business and the Cedar Ridge lodge run by the Kincaid family is the perfect setting. I absolutely loved Aidan and Lily's romance and can't wait to see the rest of the Kincaid family find their own happily ever after.

Second Chance Summer was an awesome start to the new Cedar Ridge series from Jill Shalvis. Fans of Jill Shalvis will be happy to have a new small town series after leaving Lucky Harbor, and new reader will quickly see why her fans fall in love with each of her books.

Audio was great. Give me more Aiden. Yummy to my toes.

This book is exactly what I needed to get me out of my book funk!!

I've been cruising the 3-star and 2-star waves lately but this book with its humor, interesting family dynamics and small town setting was just what I needed.

Lilly Danville has been running away from Cedar Ridge starting from the day she lost her sister to a climbing accident and her father in a span of the week. But now she's back after losing her job, her boyfriend and her dignity. Aidan Kincaid had a few regrets in his life. One of them is letting Lilly walk away all those years ago. But now Lilly is back but she's still running from the ghost chasing her and it's up to Aidan to remind her of the reasons why she should stay in Cedar Ridge with him for good.

While the romance between Lilly and Aidan is definitely front and center in this book, there are a few elements added which made the story a lot more interesting to me. There's Aidan's complicated but loving relationship with his mother and siblings and their struggle with running the Cedar Ridge resort after their worthless father left them all in debt. The banter between the Kincaid siblings were hilarious. It's one of my favorite parts of the book.

Lilly's story was heart breaking. I'm usually allergic to heroines who run away from their problems but here, I could totally understand and sympathize with Lilly. Her guilt was misplaced but understandable.

Another thing I liked about this book was the competence its characters. Aidan works helps out at the family resort. He also works for Search & Rescue and a volunteer firefighter. Lilly works as a cosmetologist. And we actually see them WORK! We see Aidan and Lilly working at becoming together while dealing with dealing with work schedules and stuff. I just found that refreshing and realistic because most of the time, in romance books, once the main characters meet, they suddenly act like they don't have jobs. Here, their careers are things they have to master to make their relationship work. And I loved that!

Overall, another excellent start to a series for Jill Shalvis. I know Aidan's brothers are getting their own book, so I'm definitely looking forward to those.

I didn't enjoy this book nearly as much as others that Shalvis has written. The family dynamics are great as always but the family relationships themselves seemed overly complicated to me like it was just one or even two steps too far.
The romantic relationship was just okay and I was interested in the outcome but overall found it not very memorable.

I love the new Colorado setting for this series, and the mountains! Hot sexy S&R fire fighters are also a good thing too.

The heroine was feisty, and Shalvis always does a great job of not letting silly lies drive her story. Can't wait for more.
