Though it's an improvement on the first novel, I agree with other reviewers who say that it's pretty much a better version of the first book. Worth a try? Sure, but don't expect anything new.

This book, was like living another persons life. I felt each of Phedre's pains and joys. I cried with her and shared her pleasure. I have never felt so emotional towards a book.

Oh, these books. Cheesy, cheesy pr0n.

Not quite as good as her debut, still an excellent book in the continuing saga of Kushiel. Loved especially the parts in the prison...if you liked her first book, this is a must read.

3.5/5

Kushiel's Chosen, while relatively uneventful, offers a solid romance and a touch of kinky sex. Phedre has no choice - she's an anguissette and a servant of Naamah, so she must follow her calling.

I didn't enjoy Kushiel's Chosen as much as the first book in the series, but I appreciate Carey's craft. Also, Melisande Shahrizai is truly one of the best antagonists in fiction.
