A very emotional book that also feels like a very honest account of mental illness and poverty at a young age. The character of Riley is so well depicted, I would hazard a guess that all women that can relate to Charlie will have known a Riley at one point or another.
The ending was maybe a little disappointing but still uplifting.

GOD i love this book so much omg... I swear, its my own coping mechanism. ive struggled through the same events in this novel and it just itches a scratch in my brain i didnt know i had. every time i read it, i fall more in love. UGH ITS SO RELATABLE ABDNDJKS. I have a few quotes saved but my favorite is "I guess you can't really get rid of what you used to be. It kinda sticks to you."- Leonard, page 164

After reading You’d Be Home Now, I knew this was going to be just as good. Turned out it was better. This book was devastatingly beautiful. The characters were full of flaws, some more than others, every person just trying to stay alive the best they could. It was raw and reflective of so many people’s experiences. Beautifully written.
