Fun sapphic romance, if you liked the first one you'll like this one.  It was a perfect palette cleanser after a streak of heavier reads.

5/10
This reads more like a fanfic-turned-book than a full-blown romance. So when thought about like that it makes it easier to read as you don’t question as much. (I even found some spelling mistakes and a few sentences that just don’t make sense.)
Not sure what the whole baking thing was about, she seemed to leave her career that she had enjoyed for 10 ish years behind in the blink of an eye, for a hobby she hadn’t touched since she was a teenager? If that whole Flee Market bit wasn’t there we’d have no idea she even enjoyed baking in the first place, as it is only ever mentioned there.
The whole cancer thing with Meredith was a bit weird, and the overall lack of boundaries Jordan and Astrid had in their respective lives with people was shocking.
I felt like maybe there needed to be some more confusion regarding Astrid and her sexuality, like she seemed to accept the fact she isn’t straight immediately and move right on from it, for someone who had been straight for 30 years I found that hard to believe.
The whole TV show aspect… just ??? Was a little bit stupid. The same with Jordan suddenly becoming an amateur designer after only having been a carpenter. Where have all her design skills been these years…? Why hasn’t she expressed a design side before?

AND OH MY GOD this book SCREAMS millennial. Avocado toast. Describing a characters gender, sexuality and race before we know their name. The repeated uses of ‘Hell, if…’ ‘The hell I was…’ and ‘To hell if…’

Having said all this… I still read it in 2 days, which says more about me than anything else- but hey I enjoyed it! Jordan and Astrid were having fun so I was as well. The book is just a bit of fun at the end of the day, so it can only be viewed as such if you don’t want to annoy yourself with problems.

Also side note but I LOVE the cover illustration

very sweet romance, definitely related to Astrid more than Delilah in the first one

Idk man I wasn't feeling it. The carpenter specifically said "im not going to be your first queer experience" and then proceeded to be her first queer experience. Also, way too many characters. Do love the narrator, though. She sounds like Cameron Esposito.

Just as addicting as Delilah doesn’t care but not as feel good at points. Still a lot of growth and development especially from such a dark spot of losing a partner, a career, and having your life wrecked so it was more inspiring in that way
