Such a good book. Sometimes frightening, but not written in a way that's meant to cause excess fear. I really wish there was a revised and updated version, I'd love to hear the authors' thoughts on more recent events!

Audio isn't working for me. There are a lot of unfamiliar names and unfamiliar foreign political parties mentioned, and I need to be able to see the words.

f you are feeling a bit crazy and can't quite explain why you think things are terrible or why you are worried, I may have the book for you. How Democracies Die was an excellent read that breaks down the issues that young/old democracies see when falling into authoritarian regimes. This was an excellent description of what has happened here in the US up until 2018 when the book came out. I can't promise it will make you feel better but it may help you give the language to help scream that none of this is normal
