I really enjoyed this book. I was hesitant at first because it was horror, but it was just enough for it to still be intriguing and for me not to be scared out of my mind to DNF it. It is defiantly one of those books you don't want to read at night. The plot itself was interesting and the way it unraveled was really well done in my opinion. My only problem is that I wish there was a little bit more romance with the two main characters. I know, I know, there is some horrible apocalypse thing happening but I was hoping for some nice things to come out of it. The ending was so nice thought.

I like to go into my books relatively blind, and I'm so glad I chose to do that with this book! The very first page grabs you and refuses to let go, and from there onward, you're taken on a dark adventure through the countryside as our protagonist, Wren, attempts to stop the infectionous blight that's killing her farm and everyone around her. I love the creative twists in his book-- there isn't a moment where I'm not asking myself what's going to happen next-- and the slow drop of information we learn over time as the horror of the situation only grows worse is beautifully done. It was a fun, innovative dark read and I'm glad I gave it a chance!

I adopted a 7 week old chiweenie puppy back in June. Before that I would have agreed that risking your life for a dog is the stupidest thing I had even heard..... Now I understand.

Derrick has a sister who is LGBT. The steadfast love that underpins Derrick and Wren’s relationship. Story kept me guessing.

We're not even in 2022 yet and this is already one of my favourites of the year!

I wasn't the biggest fan of Wilder Girls but this one was so good! It had beautiful writing, great characters and creepy scenes but the plot was so freaking cool.

If you wanted more from Wilder Girls I think you'll really dig this, I went into this with just the knowledge it was compared to Wilder Girls and I was worried I wasn't going to really like this but Ann Fraistat really killed this and wrote a fantastic novel

I'm so happy I was able to review this one early via Random Penguin House and Netgalley.

I won't ever shut up about this book

I picked this book up because the cover pulled me in, I bought and and started to read. At first it was interesting and I wanted to see what it was about but half way through I found myself in a reading slump. It took me AGES to get through this but I was still interested enough to find out how it ends so I kept going. At about chapter 12 is where I finally got into it and wanted to keep reading. Things were coming together and making sense and the action was there. The end was very interesting and I enjoyed it. I did feel kinda disconnected from the characters tho, like they just felt so far away for some reason. Overall it was an interesting concept, some thing different.
