Wayyy worse than I remember (re-read). Reverse harem despite only 1 legit suitor. World is very euro-centric, which I don't usually notice but it was hard not to.

Violet, an orphan, is selected out of 15 million submissions as the scholarship or charity case to attend the number one university in the world alongside the world’s royals. One scholarship student is selected to attend every 5 years. In the past, these students have gone on to marry one of the royals - but not violet. She wants to keep her head down get the best education in the world to better her life. Of course, she immediately meets several royals who star in various roles in her life there. The world in which this story takes place is a very interesting one - it’s our world, but post the fall of democracy following a world war where the world is re-divided into kingdoms with ruling monarchy. There is a heir to each throne, some countries holding more world power than others. It is not post apocalyptic though. However there are some differences to our world regarding resources and a stark difference between the haves and the have nots. There is betrayal and unveiling of true intentions and political maneuvering among the royals that she finds herself caught up in. She is a secret badass, intuitive and snarky but kind. I really like her character. Overall great read, I devoured it in one day. Not really much for spice in this one as relationships are building - but one scene with one of the guys. Looking forward to the next book!
