Augh, what a shitshow. Clearly for horny teens. I should have stopped right when she got off the plane. Horribly written, every other thought is about how hot this guy is or how sexy that guy is. Tons of bullying and abuse, but presented joyfully, as fun. She (MC) is dumb as hell and makes terrible decisions. There wasn't actually sex until the end, so I kept reading. For someone who was supposed to have a secret past that left her tough and streetwise, she sure had trouble picking battles, planning, noticing obvious red flags, etc. Childish behavior, inadequate risk assessment, and she blew her chance at impressing people with her fighting skills when she got angry and lost control. Shitty book. Hated it.
First book great, goes down hill from there
The first book was pretty intriguing. Violet was sassy and fun and meeting the characters was awesome. The second book was steamy and it was nice to see the development of the character relationships but I ended up just skipping to the last three chapters of he final book. Sometimes I feel like with RH or “why choose” books the plot gets lost along the way and that’s what happened here. There was such great potential and they just didn’t do anything with it.

Mind blown
So I had been keeping this book on my TBR list because I wasn't sure if I wanted to read it with cliffhangers and that it looked to be MF only. I finally gave in and man I'm mad at myself for waiting. Though at least I have the second book with the third coming soon! I was expecting a selection type book but this series is So. Much. More. There is the whole dystopian world with monarchs ruling after a big war. Violet gets an opportunity to have a brighter future but at what cost? There are secrets and hidden identies. There is fighting and mega chemistry. I have to say that Rafe is oozing it and I can't wait to see what happens in the second book. I love the friendship with the twins. I can see how easily this could of been a harem, but I also respect that it isn't part of Violet's story. Don't delay. Read this book.

Won the Lottery
Violet is a poor orphan. She does not believe she won the Princess Ballot. Everyone around her is royal or rich. Who can she trust? Or is trust an illusion?

The series was good but I definitely got tired of it pretty quick. I don't remember how many books I got through before I gave up but it was good
I knew this was MFM going into it, but I totally picked the wrong guy 2nd guy. Oops, but Rafe...Oh, man...He is definitely #1 in the book for me.
On that note, the book was interesting. It's not a bully romance and maybe I've read too many school-based ones where the new girl gets bullied that I thought she would and she wasn't! It took me a good half the book to finally believe that Mattie wasn't a mean girl. I honestly adore Mattie and Nolan in the book. I don't mind Violet, but I don't love her. I think it's because she falls for Alex way too quickly. She's got this "I'm from a hard upbringing compared to you royals" and, yet, she's not the smartest despite having Mattie and Nolan in her life.
Story was pretty predictable (so obvious who Fallen Angel was), but sometimes you just want something easy to read.

HOLY MACARONI! Tate and Jaymin strike again!
These two sure do know how to keep a girl on the edge of her seat! I absolutely loved this book and if it wasn't for work, I'd have devoured it in one sitting!

I went into this book expecting the typical high school drama but add a bit of royal spice..... and snobbery. Whilst I definitely got that, I shouldn't have been surprised that there was more.
We all know the first rule of Fight Club..... I broke that rule to fangirl to my brother when the underground fight club WITH SWORDS was revealed. He definitely thought I was a little crazy.... but realised that's why I sit and listen to him go on about books as well haha.
I'll be honest, I kinda saw part of that ending coming, not all of it, but a certain someone was giving me the Tamlin ick so I knew things were off from the go.
I will be starting Playboy Princes today and can't wait to see where the story goes next.... I have a slight theory based on Violet's name.... but we shall have to wait and see.

There is not many books that can surprise me but this one sure did . I did not see this coming it was a great surprise.
I have been jones-ing for a Princess competition. Especially after my disappointment with the version G K DeRosa created (a readable book; don't get me wrong. I just got bored from lack of action and I prefer less saccharine.)
Do you love a good underdog? I do. Violet is smart, sexy, and so are the other characters she meets. The heat level, pacing, and dialogue were strong. I suppose this classifies under Bully Romance, but an underdog needs challenges to overcome.
Violet is no wimp, so she is unfazed by the social ostracism she meets at first. Lucky her, a princess takes an instant like to her and introduces her to people who are not stuck up. This brings me to the first boyfriend, Alex. He seems very attentive and nice, but still has no clue how his actions might be seen by the less privileged. I was quite pleased, until I read about his back-stabbing.
Her main foil, and interest, gives me pitter patters of lust. Seriously. I cannot figure out whether I am more intrigued by the underdog showing her skills off, or the romantic tension.
BUT there is one oddness I hope is addressed in the next book. How does a poor orphan obtain mad skills in knife fighting in a ring in a costume? That breached the atmosphere of believability. Scrappy and resourceful I understand. Paid classes in karate or something are expensive. And her willingness to kill without regret? WTF?
