This is a really dense book. Really fun, and crazy, and inventive but still there is so much going on. It's a little hard at first when you're trying to grasp what's going on and instead it keeps throwing random new aliens at you. I found myself frustrated as I wanted to know more about the characters that were supposed to save humanity. At first I thought there wasn't much plot as it jumped really quickly from aliens are here to now we're at the competition but that amazing ending just blew it out of the park for me. I was listening to the audio-book and it said there were only 45 minutes left and they hadn't even started performing yet and I was just perplexed on how it was all going to wrap up. It turned out to be amazing and not at all like I was expecting. I loved all the different aliens she created and their little different quirks.

Recommended for fans of the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” trilogy — w/r/t/ similar style and themes. It’s a cute story, if a little tedious at points. There’s a fun whimsy to it, though that also made me feel like I could put it on pause at any point.

Es raro de pelotas. Pero la última mitad me ha costado soltarlo y es... Es caos y risas y eso es maravilloso. Si buscas lógica aquí no es.

Overall I think this book was okay, but the joke about Clippy is one of the funniest things I’ve ever read. amazing.
I found this funny, although a little sadder than I was expecting. I am less of a fan of florid overwrote sentences, but had a lot of fun with this one.
Book Club book- abandoned almost immediately. Definitely not my style of writing-or listening (as I tried this as an audiobook). It was a vomit of words I couldn't keep track of and I honestly didn't feel like pursuing it any further after the first two chapters. I guess I just don't understand Eurovision?
I suppose if you like Douglas Adams as well as using words for artistic-sake, you might enjoy this.

3.5 stars. Eurovision + Hitchhiker's Guide + Glam rock + race-class-gender-queer-poly-intersectionality + alien invasion. Much like Eurovision, it is intentionally over the top and hurtles along on its own momentum and relentless ridiculous charm. I wish it had gone farther into the emotional kick at the end and that the various sentient species had been easier to tell apart/keep track of...but I suppose that's a problem with Hitchhiker's Guide, too. A very, very fast read. Would do great in animation.
