Not my favorite in the series. I suppose I understand the tie backs to Asimov's other series especially as retains to the Robots series, but the ending felt flat. It was such a big build up and I had hoped for more. The character of Trevize also felt more flat than in the previous novel. Overall not terrible but some clear flaws. Still some strong parts, just wish it paid off more in the end.

Apparently it was really important to Asimov to get the point across that he thinks intimate relationships between attractive women in their early twenties and older men are cool and also normal.

I can't breathe. Foundation and Earth was.................. I wonder if there is 'ANY' other science fiction series as great as the Foundation series.
I haven't read a lot of science fictions, just the popular ones. H.G. Wells, Arthur C. Clarke and Brian Aldiss are some who comes to my mind right now. But, Isaac Asimov is so far, unparalleled to any other writer. The vividness, the 'craziness' of his imagination, that is something I've never found anywhere else. I shouldn't compare something so great to our puny little, unmentionable local sci-fi. But, whatever I've read so far, 'ALL' of that, ALL OF THAT, has it's roots in Isaac Asimov. I can probably break down every single one to sci-fi written by Isaac Asimov. Okay, maybe some came from the other writers... But, I am... dazed, baffled. If anyone ever reads sci-fi, Isaac Asimov should be the God to him/her and the Foundation series is the Bible.
This may be just my personal feeling, but come on, it's 'GREAT'. I loved all of the friggin Foundation Novels. I can't wait to read all other Asimov books.

Good read if you want to finish the Foundation series out on an interesting point. It feels like Asimov is more interested in writing dialogue than plot, and the dialogue can get repetitive. Also, Asimov doesn’t write the female characters well at all. Men seem to have little flaws and are naturally the drivers of events. Women are non-conforming characters are reduced to plot devices and sometimes seen as hostile and challenges the main character must overcome without much explanation than they are different.

As much as I enjoyed the interesting use of such a large space of time passing through the first three books, getting to sit with a handful of characters like these and how Asimov wrote them was truly amazing.

This had such a good momentum, calling back briefly to earlier moments but mostly focused on the future and God... I loved it.

This was an awesome journey and made me so fucking intrigued to see how this entire series wraps and twists.
