if you can (it’s <200pg) would recommend reading in one sitting for full effect! (although i did not and still enjoyed!) i can see it wouldn’t be to everyone’s taste in the writing style and lack of clear plot but i really enjoyed.

very effectively and aptly gives the reader vertigo with this stream of consciousness style of writing. however was quite slow at parts and felt that it was easy to get muddled in what was happening—but maybe that’s exactly the point

Mild Vertigo is a small but compact literary Japanese novel, originally written in the late 90's.
Natsumi is a middle class Tokyo housewife with two sons. Her life is defined by routine, housework, family, friends and neighbours.
The story follows her in these routines as she gossips, makes private observations, and loses herself in long trains of thought. Mild Vertigo explores the dizzying reality of being unable to locate oneself in the endless stream of minutiae that forms a lonely life confined to a middle-class home, where both everything and nothing happens.

Slow, stream of consciousness slice of life writing. Not what I usually go for but good for the genre.
