I should have read this BEFORE I read Blue Water , however still enjoyed it. Once again a ridiculous plot, with an eye watering array of characters but with fascinating historical facts

3.5⭐️ an enjoyable and well-researched historical crime thriller, Laurence Jago is a really endearing protagonist.

Really well researched story - with a strong setting that evoked Georgian London well. It wasn’t until the final few chapters though that I felt fully engaged - and I was left feeling like the point of this book was to set up book 2 - which it did really really well. It was ok, great historical detail, but left me feeling a little cold.

An enjoyable, historical read. Starts fairly slowly but builds nicely to a good if open ended finish.
I particularly enjoyed the strong true history elements of the book
