So human. Raw and awkward. Captures what it is like internally to discover and lose love and yourself.

4.5 stars. Absolutely loved it! It felt so real- their conversations and relationship development were organic and did not feel fabricated. It was super relatable being 38, recently divorced, and pretty isolated myself. I loved the setting for the hike and their journey and new place to stay each night, extending their trip together just a bit longer each time. Only wished for a true HEA, but I guess sometimes the promise of one has to be enough.

I enjoyed this competent romance - especially as it's about thr coast to coast walk which we'd just been doing! Some irritating moments but highly enjoyable.

Very good. A quick and easy read – big type and thick paper. Not quite up there with One Day. Took me a while to connect with the characters and it doesn't get properly going until they're on their Coast-to-Coast walk. Dialogue was sometimes confusing – I was unsure who was speaking and had to spend time re-reading some paragraphs to make sense of it – so more dialogue tags would have been good. The odd joke or two fell flat but it was mostly very funny and of course, bittersweet.

Some favourite moments:
p76-77. 'I think I smell of cow shit.'...
p154. Touching scene where Michael tightens Marnie's ruck-sack straps.
p175. Bowels and genitals clambering up into rib cage because of the icy cold water.
lighthearted fast-paced
