Sassy. Steamy. Muy Caliente. Adriana Herrera wow what a fun and spicy story. Julia moved from NYC to Dallas TX for her boyfriend’s job. Now shortly there after said boyfriend moves back to NYC with a new girl, leaving Julia with a big apartment and a broken heart. But Julia has a great job running charitable programs for a big company, so she decides to make the best of it. Enter Rocco also from NYC his company has been hired to give the greenlight to Julia’s company to go public. And of course this means getting rid of the charitable programs that Julia is in charge of. So as you can see it’s complicated, but there is definitely some heat between these two. When Julia starts a meet up group for relocated New Yorkers, Rocco and she are drawn even closer to one another.

Loved both Julia and Rocco and was so wanting them to get together. Also adored the Gotham Exiles the meet up group that Julia formed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will all get their own stories. Julia’s family might have been loud and crazy, but they were so loving and caring. And the food, I was seriously craving Dominican food this entire book. Rocco‘s family situation was much more heartbreaking, but I did like his bond with his sister and niece. A Spicy steamy sassy story sure to make you smile. The audiobook was narrated by Carmen Vine and Sean Crisden. I love when a story told from multiple perspectives has dual narrators. They both did such a great job and added so much to an already great story. Especially appreciated the Spanish annunciation and the New York accent.

At last, I finally have read a book by Adriana Herrera and I sure enjoyed the heck out of Here to Stay. This one was a bit of a slow burn for me, which is a trope that I've been struggling with since the world essentially shut down. But I know soooo many that absolutely live by this trope, so I know that they'll love this one completely.

However, I love a good office romance and these two definitely fought their instant attraction, I had to applaud them! It definitely made for some very interesting
interactions between them.

Giving this a high three. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the “woke white boy” love interest and some of the conversations depicting that towards the beginning of the book.

Something super petty I noticed was that characters often “lifted a shoulder”, which was a very strange description of movement for me. I couldn’t really picture that motion in context, haha.

The fact that Julia identifies as an “Afro-Latina” and a “Brown woman” simultaneously kind of rubbed me the wrong way, and the constant mention of Rocco’s “blue eyes” got tiring.

I appreciated the theme of mental health with an adult who has had a toxic upbringing and the conflicting feelings that come with it, as well as the need to separate from family in order to finally step into your own destiny and heal.

Definitely got steamy a few times, and the back and forth POV between Julia and Rocco was nice. Finished it in a day.

I really enjoyed this book

- The chemistry between the main characters was out of this world!
- The sex scenes were so hot
- the friend group was amazing
- I loved Julia's family
- Rocco is adorable and I really enjoyed his storyline revolving around his family

The issue I had with this book is that the will they won't they part of this book dragged a bit.

Here to Stay is my first novel from Adriana Herrera. It was really cute and different from what I've been reading lately. Julia is a New Yorker by all standards, but for the last year she's been living in hot Texas after she moved for her boyfriend's job. Shortly after the bf up's and leaves her for his ex and Adirana's world comes crumbling down. She enjoys her job, but she doesn't know how to feel now that she's been told that her company may be on the chopping block. The person to make that decision is the ever so handsome Rocco, who she can't seem to stop thinking about.
Rocco also feels the same way, but both of them know that they shouldn't be feeling like this. It just won't work, but pretty soon they both give into their desires and the flame burning between them only intensifies. Especially after Adriana starts a group for relocated New Yorkers.

The family trope in this book was amazing. There's nothing better than reading about families whose bond is so strong. It makes me happy while reading. I wouldn't mind seeing some backstories from everyone because it's just that interesting. The chemistry between Rocco and Adriana made the writing so much better and dynamic. Herrera did a great job and I wouldn't mind reading more form her. Huge thanks to NetGalley, Carina Press, and Harlequin Blog Tours for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Herrera's signature style of diverse Latinx characters, found families, social justice, and steamy romance is on full display in this book and, much as with her other books, it was an absolute delight to read. Her characters always leap off the page making you care deeply about them and their situation. Julia and Rocco were a couple I sincerely wanted to see happy and this story offered some significant challenges to that destination--economic, familial and evil billionaires--which made me quite concerned about the pain of the journey for the characters. In the end, of course, everything was okay, and I truly enjoyed reading about their love story and meeting the Gotham Exiles along the way. Is it too much to hope they will star in their own books some day?

Adriana Herrera is an absolute QUEEN. She writes such tight books full of all the spice, the strong feisty female, the seemingly impossible odds…
Julia and Rocco are on opposite sides of a possible IPO vote in a high end fashion company in Dallas. Julia runs the Sturm charitable foundation benefitting immigrant children and their families. Rocco is the finance guy gathering the report for how to make the Sturm company a successful IPO…
They try to resist the sizzle between them as long as possible, but the incendiary nature of their interactions is eventually too much to resist…
The juxtaposition of their families and their trauma stories is fantastic and plays into their actions and reactions to each other as adults…
Another wonderful, emotional story from AH. Also it’s super fun to read a story set in my hometown. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend. Can’t wait for book 2…
