Here to Stay is a great book with a lot of feelings. It follows two NYC expats who are working in Dallas, Julia and Rocco. Julia works at a non-profit for immigrant children and Rocco is the numbers guy who might potentially get her program cut. The best part of the book is Julia's family, both her Dominican/Puerto Rican family back in NYC, and the group of friends who are all transplants from NYC, dubbed the Exiles. Here to Stay is touches on tough topics, like immigration and family trauma, but it is also a joyful book about fashion, family, and friendship. (How's that for alliteration?) It's a great read for the end of a tough day. You'll definitely laugh, you might cry a little, and you'll end with a happy sigh.
(I was provided an advanced copy by Netgalley. However, the opinions here are my own. )

Don't let that adorable cover fool you, this book is HOT! This is the first book I've read by Adriana Herrera, but it will not be the last.
This book was a workplace romance full of family, friends, and lots of steam! I'm fairly certain it was pitched as hate to love, but I definitely didn't get that at all. Rocco made her nervous because of his job, but I never got hate. I really loved so many aspects of this book, such as the diversity, the friendships (The Gotom Exiles were great), and family (obsessed with Julia's grandma). I enjoyed Julia as a main character. I think she was determined to make her own way, full of sass, but was also a sweetheart. I liked Rocco enough. I loved how much he loved his sister and niece, and wanted to do whatever to take care of them. This book is full of steam and dirty talk, I loved the tension and build up between Julia and Rocco. I feel like they formed a great friendship and once they actually communicated they were great together. I real liked the ending/epilogue. What I didn't love about this book was all the noncommunication. I know it's a thing especially in romance novels, but it's not for me. Like I feel like so much of their issues would be non issues if they just said what they were thinking (like the conflict). I read this ebook and listened to the audiobook, and I really enjoyed the narrator's on the audiobook. I'm assuming the rest of the Exiles will get a book, and I will do read them.

This was a fun, sexy read! I loveedddd Rocco and the Gotham Exiles. It was awesome how Julia came up with that idea and how well it worked for them! Let talk about the sexual tension between these two! Despite being on opposite sides of a work thing. They made it work and it was amazing. I loved the friends and her family hahahaa so so funny!
Love how Adriana Herrera combines complex family dynamics, social issues, and sex in a perfect blend.

This was a really enjoyable read and my first by Adriana Herrera! I loved the family and cultural aspects that were included in the story. Rocco is a true cinnamon roll for Julia and I am so here for it! I am pretty obsessed with how cute he is with his cat. They had instant chemistry and you really saw it explode once they were finally together. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series!
Special thanks to the author, Harlequin and NetGalley for the advanced readers copy, this book is available now.
New York transplant now in New York, Julia Del Mar hasn’t been having the best year but, that changes when native New Yorker, Rocco comes to town and is content on turning her world upside down. With the help of other NY natives now In Dallas, it starts to feel more like home and life starts feeling a bit more of an elevator ride. How does Julia survive Rocco?
I admit it started off a bit slow for me but, quickly gained momentum. I really enjoyed the characters and their quirkiness and fun they bring to the story. There was a bit of drama and an emotional ride but, it made for a wonderful story.

This author writes some compelling characters. They all live in a layered and not always easy world. I love the relationships, including found family.
You have two people living in a new environment but missing their New York home. They both have big dreams that appear to be at odds with one another. However, they ae also madly attracted to one another.
I really enjoyed this book and the sexy times were so good.
