Seeing Albert embrace the necessary changes brought about by receiving his retirement notice was heartwarming. There were spots that felt a bit forced, but the characters and their stories made for good reading. It did shine a hopeful light on changes that have occurred since Albert and George met as young men.

it was nice to escape ....it's a light read with some heavy emotions behind it ...a very sweet book

Cute late life coming out story

3.5 stars rounded up. I liked it, but thought it was a bit longer than necessary.

I enjoyed this life-affirming peek at Albert, an endearing postal carrier who reluctantly, and then with gusto, embraces his true self and then goes after a second chance at love. The storyline left me with a face-splitting grin.

Quite a bit sappy at times, but still sweet.

This was on a book list of "happy reads." I actually found it more than a little sad even if the overall reach was positive. 18-60 is a heck of a long time to live inauthentically. Still liked it!
