I'm kind of at a loss for words on this one...Kate Stewart is such an amazing storyteller and every one of the Ravenhood series books destroy me. They're so beautiful that I keep coming back for more! Tyler has been the character that I've alway been drawn to in the other books. I was so excited to read his story and it didn't disappoint. The love and heartbreak had me reeling. I officially have a book hangover after reading this one! This book is truly unforgettable!

This book made me ugly cry so by the rules, five stars.

Severed Heart is a THICC boy and I wasn’t sure what to expect but it needed to be this long to fully explore the depths of pain and trauma to cause maximum emotional damage. This is the story of Tyler and Delphine. You know how it ends because of the original trilogy. But do you? I’m not a fan of second chance romance or age gap romance, but I’m a huge fan of this book anyway.

The intellectual sharpness and connection wrecked me. This is not love at first sight, not unhealthy obsession. This is healing and home being found in a person and purpose and love being the why for everything.

This will leave you emotionally raw and grieving in the best way. You can cry on my shoulder.

Boy is this a rough one. It took me so long to finish because to be honest I was devastated reading it. Tyler was one of my favorites, and his story is so tragically romantic and sad. I felt so deeply for him and Delphine, and I will miss their stories as I move onto another book.

This book is perfect. It hits every emotion you could possibly think of feeling - grief, love, fear, courage. The story being told from Tyler's POV really elevates how much love was between him and Delphine.

A girl can only hope for a man to love her as much as these two loved each other.

Okay let me preface by saying I was emotionally really invested as a fan of the Ravenwood series before I even opened this book. Seeing them grow up and understanding their past better was so special. But Delphine is very toxic until she deals with her past trauma. You need to check your triggers on this one, her early chapters were hard for me.

I knew how it would end and it did not stop me from being a blubbering mess. The last two hundred pages of this book were everything.

“Thank you for coming back, soldier of my heart,” she whispers, full of emotion, lighting me up before turning back to scan the morning sky. “I’m so thankful you came home.”

I cannot wait to see what is next for Tyler & Zach. 🥺♥️

But it needs to be said, this book is longer than it needed to be in my opinion.
And personally I could have also done without a Jordan Peterson quote. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you to NetGalley, Hambrigth PR and the author Kate Stewart for the advanced reading copy, all my opinions are my own.

was it really necessary to stab me in the heart like that, kate?
